Hushing the World

Hushing the World

Buzz, fizzle, pop, zing, and jingle
The world can't keep still a single
Moment  in our very busy
Life and it's driving me crazy

I'm teetering on my tight rope
And survival has little hope
But the crowd below screams nonesense
Which gives me even more suspense.

I start to turn red in the face
And worry that I'll lose my grace
And fall so I shout "be quiet!"
But they go on with their riot

I calmed myself and closed my eyes
And in myself, to my surprise
I found a calm,  peaceful silence
Separate from the noisy violence

Calm, empty, quiet, and silent
Problems are smaller than an ant
